Philippine Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy


As per Article 3 of the PSGE Constititution and By laws, an active member is defined as:

“physicians in the practice of obstetrics and gynecology with interest in the various aspects of gynaecologic endoscopy.”

In addition, the PSGE member should be a diplomate or fellow of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, Inc. (Section 3, Article 3.1.2)


This category requires certification by the Specialty Board of the PSGE (Section 3, Article 3.1.3).  Current requirements for fellowship in either laparoscopy or hysteroscopy require the submission of a Step I certificate (Basic Diagnostic Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy with Animal Workshop), certificate of completion of at least a 6 month endoscopy training program in an accredited institution, and submission of specified number of cases (presently 30) done as primary surgeon with supporting documentation (operative record certified by hospital or department chair and histopathology), an accomplished fellow application form and a photograph.

Board certification is required by the Philippine Medical Association of its affiliate specialty and subspecialty societies (Section 2, Article 2.1.7 of the Code for Professional Specialization of the Philippine Medical Association).
